Since making its debut in 2020 after replacing the ATS sedan, the Cadillac CT4 has made a strong statement in the luxury small car market. As the smallest and most affordable option in the Cadillac lineup, the CT4 offers plenty of luxury without the massive price tag. The 2023 CT4 offers a comfortable ride, features a variety of lively engines, and achieves respectable gas mileage.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2023 Cadillac CT4 is available in five trims: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport, CT4-V, and CT4-V Blackwing. While its exterior styling varies depending on what options you purchase, the vehicle's sharp and modern design is sure to turn heads. Standard features include 17-inch wheels, LED headlights and taillights, and heated power side mirrors, but you can opt for 18- or 19-inch wheels and auto-dimming driver's side and rearview mirrors.
Engine (Power)
You can choose among four powertrain options with the 2023 Cadillac CT4. The standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine gets 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The 2.7-liter turbocharged inline-four produces 310 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque on all trims except for the CT4-V, which gets 325 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. The most powerful engine option is reserved for the CT4-V Blackwing, and it cranks out 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque.
The base engine uses an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the others use an available 10-speed automatic. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available on all trims except the CT4-V Blackwing.
Performance
Compared to other vehicles in its class, the 2023 Cadillac CT4 achieves above-average numbers. The base engine along with standard rear-wheel drive will give you the best numbers with 23 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway.
Interior
With seating for five people, the 2023 Cadillac CT4 offers plenty of room and supportive seats for front-seat travelers. The base trim includes power-adjustable driver's and passenger seats, synthetic leather seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. If you're transporting larger items, consider folding down the split-folding rear seats.
You'll have a hard time finding a more user-friendly infotainment system than the one found in the 2023 Cadillac CT4. The Cadillac User Experience (CUE) infotainment system has sharp graphics along with a simple menu layout. You can also access certain controls via buttons located on the steering wheel and control panel. The vehicle comes standard with an 8-inch touch-screen display, two USB ports, satellite and HD radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless smartphone charging, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. A handful of add-ons are available and include navigation and two premium stereo systems.
Safety Features
Every 2023 Cadillac CT4 comes with more than a dozen standard safety features. Some of these key features include blind-spot monitoring, forward automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator. It also has a rear-seat alert, which reminds you to check the rear seats for small pets and children before exiting the vehicle, and the Teen Driver system, which allows you to set audio and speed limits for secondary drivers. The CT4 also has a handful of available safety upgrades, some of which include a head-up display, reverse automatic emergency braking, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
