If you’re planning on visiting the Scottsdale area, there’s a must-see location that you need to add to your list, and it’s called Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West. Visiting this museum will provide an educational and enjoyable experience for everyone in your group, children included. And, if you’re a local and have never planned a trip to this popular attraction, it’s time to schedule one so that you, too, can experience all it has to offer.

Plan Your Visit

In order to make your trip successful, there are some things you should know before you arrive. The museum is located at 3830 North Marshall Way, and when you arrive, you’ll be able to find free parking options at the city of Scottsdale underground parking garage, accessible from S. Main St. on the north side of the museum. The museum offers free daily tours at 11:15 AM, 12:15 PM, and 1:15 PM. If you’re interested in taking part, be sure to plan your visit accordingly.

The museum is open from 9:30 AM to 5 PM Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. On Thursdays, it’s open from 9:30 AM to 9 PM November through April and 9:30 AM to 5 PM May through October. They’re closed every Monday but are open on Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM. They’re also closed for major holidays, so be sure to check their website before scheduling your visit.

Don’t Miss Any of the Exhibits

When you arrive, you’ll be able to take part in a tour or go on a self-guided audio tour of the first and second floors. The museum features rotating exhibits, so even if you visit multiple times, you can always experience something new. The exhibits feature different artwork pieces, pottery, and more. Be sure to download a copy of the museum map so that you can preview the museum layout and plan your visit accordingly so that you don’t miss a thing.

Shop at the Museum Store

Once you finish exploring the museum, be sure to stop and visit the Sue and Robert Karatz Museum Store. The store was named by Phoenix Magazine as the “best place to get AZ stuff,” so if you’re looking for a special souvenir to take home or are trying to get a head start on Christmas shopping, you can browse their unique items, including children’s items, kitchenware, jewelry, books, pottery, and home décor items.

Even better, all of the items are tax-free since proceeds go to directly the non-profit organization. If you’re planning a road trip to this unique museum, you will need a reliable vehicle to get you there and back, something like the new Cadillac XT5 Luxury, an impressive luxury SUV that will make your driving experience anything but ordinary.

Road trips, daily commutes, and life, in general, all have one thing in common: you need a reliable vehicle that can make driving worry-free. If you’re in the market for a new or quality pre-owned vehicle, we have an impressive selection of Cadillacs and quality preowned options that will help you feel more confident on the road.
